Tigers post solid win over Brooklin

A strong offence, backed up by a solid defence, led the Uxbridge Secondary School Tigers to a 34-6 win over Brooklin High School Bears last Thursday.
Led by quarterback Evan Coughlan, the Tigers pounded Brooklin for five touchdowns while giving up only one unconverted TD. Coughlan completed seven of 11 passes for 124 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Both of those TDs went to Owen Reid, who had three receptions for a total of 83 yards.
Reggie Kerford led the team with 108 rushing yards, added a 35-yard reception, and scored an 80-yard touchdown on a punt return, for a total of 248 yards and three touchdowns. Dallas Tranter and Leo Langhorst both pulled in interceptions.
Brooklin's only score came in the third quarter after the Tigers had already put 27 points on the scoreboard. The Bears managed to march down to the Tigers' 12-yard line in the fourth quarter, but an attempted TD pass was intercepted on the five-yard line.
With the win, the Tigers now have a 2-1 record. They hope to improve on that today (Thursday) when they travel to Ajax to face Dennis O'Connor Catholic High School at 2 p.m.
