School children welcome Zephyr runner home

Students at Scott Central Public School in Sandford are scheduled to turn out yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon to welcome home Zephyr native Myles Dininio.
Dininio is two months into a cross-Canada run to raise funds for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). He began his journey in St. John's, Nfld., on April 1.
The students are to greet Dininio with placards and posters, music and money they have raised for him with a toonie collection. School officials said they expected Dininio to stop in the school for a break on his cross-country journey.
For Dininio, 40, who has two children at Scott Central, this is his second long trek across Canada. In 2002, he rode his bicycle from Mount Albert to Nelson, B.C. He expects his current journey to take four-and-a-half months, covering around 8,000 kilometres and he hopes to raise $50,000 in the process.
