Pickleball noise annoying Uxbridge resident

A Colby Road resident appeared before council on Monday to complain about the noise from the pickleball courts at the Fields of Uxbridge.
Sue Keeling said she hears the noise from the courts from early in the morning until late at night. She said it impairs her enjoyment of her backyard and she has to keep her windows closed to block out the sound.
"Why are we subjected to this noise?" she asked. "We wake up to it and go to bed with the same noise."
Councillor Willie Popp said this is a situation where the ramifications of an action are not understood until later. He said council would likely look at the situation in future budget talks "to make it less of an inconvenience to you."
Mayor Dave Barton said some people are early risers and that's their time to exercise.
"We create recreation assets and we want our assets used by residents as much as possible," he said.
Council took no action on Keeling's complaint.
