2026 budget looks to be on track

In a report to council, treasurer Tobi Lee offered a first-quarter review of the township's finances,

Lee's report said there are no concerns with the budgetary performance for general government or for the fire department. The costs for Development Services are higher than projected due to the costs relating to the downtown revitalization project which were not included in the budget.

Lee also said there were no concerns regarding Public Works, although winter control costs were above the five-year average because severe winter conditions at the beginning of the year resulted in increased plowing, sanding, salting, and overtime requirements. She said 37 per cent of the winter maintenance budget remains, compared to 68 per cent in 2025.

Community Services were also given a thumbs up, with Lee noting that this year's day camp programs are fully subscribed through registration and as such, the user fees are at full budget for the year.

All other departments and services were also said to be in good shape.
