Woman charged in collision with firefighters
A female has been charged after she collided her vehicle with three firefighters who were assisting with a collision in Uxbridge last November.
According to an update from Durham Region Police Services (DRPS), investigators with the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) have concluded their investigation and charged the driver of the Hyundai SUV that struck the three firefighters who were attending a call. A 42-year-old woman from Courtice is charged with three counts of Careless Driving Cause Bodily Harm. She was issued a court summons to attend Provincial Offences Court.
On Nov. 16, 2025, the Uxbridge Fire Department responded to a collision in the area of Wagg Road near Old Highway 47, involving a transport truck and pick-up truck. While emergency crews were assisting with this collision, the Hyundai SUV lost control, hitting three firefighters and the driver of the transport truck before crashing through a fence and into a tree.
