Three Uxbridge neighbourhoods coming together in support of Loaves & Fishes Food Bank

On Saturday, May 23, a team of volunteers from Winding Trail, The Glens at Fred Barnard Way, and Wooden Sticks Estate will be calling on their neighbours to help provide much needed supplies for the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank in Uxbridge.

Unlike during the holiday season, donations tend to drop off at this time of year while the need does not. Families and individuals, many of whom are seniors, continue to struggle with the ever-increasing cost of basic food items and household supplies.

By combining efforts, this small team of volunteers will call on 200 homes, asking residents to leave their donation at their front door by 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at which time it will be collected and delivered to the Food Bank on their behalf.

Flyers containing full details, including a list of urgently needed items, will be distributed to homes throughout these three neighbourhoods this week, and information is also available on the Uxbridge Community Facebook page.
