Pickering-Uxbridge MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy announced last week that the Ontario government is investing almost a million dollars to renew and rehabilitate critical infrastructure in the Township of Uxbridge.

The funding - totalling $983,894 - will come from the 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).

“The Ontario government’s $983,894 investment . . . is helping small rural communities like Uxbridge build and renew the critical infrastructure they rely on every day,” Bethlenfalvy said.

Bethlenfalvy, who is also finance minister, said the province will allocate $400 million in OCIF funding in 2026 to help communities address critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems.

"These funds make a real difference in keeping our infrastructure in great shape and helping us serve the day-to-day needs of our residents,” Mayor Dave Barton said. "I also want to give a big thank you to . . . Peter Bethlenfalvy for his continued support and advocacy for Uxbridge.”
