Old-fashioned barber shop opening downtown

Roger Varley, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter

In a couple of months, men in Uxbridge will be able to enjoy a long-time tradition: a shave and a haircut!

Sabryna Larrivere is currently revamping the old Rush Photos store on lower Brock Street into an old-fashioned barber shop. The shop will have six chairs and Sabryna says she will be training barbers.

She has the experience, given that she also owns a barber shop in Timmins, Ont. When asked why she is opening another shop in Uxbridge, she said "I fell in love," explaining she met someone from Uxbridge. She said she then came to town and fell in love with the community.

She said she has been planning the shop for four years and hopes to be open in August.
