It appears that the Canada Post outlet on Brock St. West in Uxbridge is not closing.
The Cosmos, working with a representative from MP Jacob Mantle’s office, received the following statement from Canada Post Corporation:
“Canada Post regularly reviews its assets and facilities to ensure they continue to meet operational requirements and support the needs of the communities we serve. At this time, no formal decision has been made regarding the future of the Uxbridge facility or any associated mail operations.
With respect to the information reportedly provided by local employees, that information does not reflect any approved or finalized corporate position. Should a decision be made that affects customers, businesses, or the community, appropriate communications would be provided through the normal channels.”
Canada Post also says it’s seeking direct feedback from Canadians about how they use the post offices in their community. The crown corporation says that “public input will be an important part of our process, helping to inform our decisions.” Some post offices will feature posters inviting customers to complete a short online survey about the services they use, need and want in their local post offices.
