Treasurer confirms auditors stay, budgets are good

Roger Varley, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter

Council agreed to renew its five-year contract with the auditing firm of Deloitte LLP following a report by treasurer Tobi Lee.

Lee's report said Deloitte has audited the municipality's books for a number of years and is familiar with the township's operations. She said council had the option of opening the contract up to Requests for Proposals but staff were satisfied with Deloitte's work.

‍ ‍In another report on the mid-year operating costs, in which she examines operating costs and revenues against the budget, Lee said she had "no concerns" about any of the municipality's departments.
