One Horizon Inc., the company chosen by the Township of Uxbridge to develop the downtown core of Uxbridge, announced Tuesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with locally-owned business, James Campbell Insurance Brokers, and has acquired the property at 33 Toronto St. N.
“This completes an important land assembly and marks a significant milestone in One Horizon’s broader vision for downtown Uxbridge,” says Mike Mirkopoulos, president of One Horizon. He also says One Horizon is “staying true to its commitment to the continued success of downtown businesses,” and shares that James Campbell Insurance Brokers will remain in the downtown following their relocation into the new Town Square development.

“This acquisition is exciting because it brings the pieces together and continues to move this development forward,” says Mirkopoulos. “This was a shared effort between two families who wanted to find a way to make this happen. We are grateful to the James family for working with us and for the role they have played in helping bring this opportunity together.”
Mirkopoulos says both families worked collaboratively to bring the partnership together, “recognizing the significance of the property and the opportunity its inclusion creates for the broader vision for downtown Uxbridge.” That collaboration “reflects the spirit behind Cultivating Community Prosperity, bringing people together around a shared opportunity and working collectively to create something with lasting value for the community.”
One Horizon says that, from the beginning, it has seen something special in Uxbridge.
“Its strong sense of community, thriving local businesses, connection to nature and agriculture, and distinctive downtown character provide a foundation worth building upon. Completing the land assembly while maintaining the presence of an important local business creates an opportunity to think beyond individual properties and consider the area as a whole. This includes how people move through it, how businesses connect to it, how public and private spaces can work together, and how thoughtful development can contribute to the continued vitality of downtown Uxbridge. The completed land assembly provides the foundation to put that vision into action,” says Mirkopoulos.
One Horizon says it recognizes that the next chapter cannot be created without listening to the community.
As plans develop, One Horizon says it will continue working with the Township of Uxbridge, local businesses, residents and community stakeholders “to understand what matters most and how the development can contribute positively to the community.”
It says that means communicating openly, collaborating thoughtfully, taking ownership of the impacts of development and working to minimize disruption along the way.
“We want to build something that feels like it belongs in Uxbridge,” said Mike Mirkopoulos. “That means understanding what people value about this community today and working together to create something that adds to it for tomorrow.”
