‘No backpacks’ rule in place for fall fair

Lisha Van Nieuwenhove

The Uxbridge Fall Fair happens this weekend, and those preparing to attend are reminded that the fair is still enforcing a ‘no backpacks’ rule, which has been in place previous years.

Clear stadium bags that allow the contents to be seen by security staff will be permitted. Fair organizers understand that visitors need to bring personal items with them, but are asked to “bring as little as possible.” Diaper bags are acceptable; the baby be present at time of entry.

This year’s fair celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Tractor Pull, happening on Friday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. Other features of this year’s fair: the ever-popular Demolition Derby (Saturday evening, 7 p.m.), the Midway, cattle, sheep, and horse shows, a Cruise-In car show, Highland dancers, the Superdogs, Canadian Beat Box champion Scott Jackson, Enchanted Princesses will be on site, and a birds of prey demonstration. The fun begins Friday at 5 p.m. For a complete schedule of events, visit uxbridgefair.ca
