Love is in the air

Discover Uxbridge and the BIA are inviting Uxbridge residents to mark the upcoming Valentine's Day by following the "Love Trail" Feb. 1 through to Feb. 14. The trail is a self-guided "romantic experience" featuring cozy dining, winter walks, local drinks, and thoughtful Valentine’s offerings.

Designed for couples and families who want to slow down and spend time together, the Love Trail invites you to explore at your own pace and make the day your own. Friday, Feb. 13, will be Love Local & Sweet Strolls with a variety of stores offering special treats. At The Bridge Social, shoppers can try seasonal drinks and Valentine's chocolates, make Valentine's cards and enter the chocolate kisses counting contest.

Foraged Floral Design will have Valentine's floral arrangements, and a $25 purchase at Sugar FX earns a helium-filled heart balloon. A romantic or relaxing stroll along one of Uxbridge’s scenic trails in the afternoon can be followed with a session at Holistic Salt Therapy and Cave. (On Feb. 14, the cave will offer a 14 per cent discount.)

Many local restaurants will offer special Valentine’s dinner menus.

Feb. 14 will be "Galentine's Day." Visit Blue Heron Books as they feature the launch of local writer Hollay Ghadery, a conversation with author and activist Annahid Dashtgard and sock puppet crafts for kids.

The event is aimed at bringing families to enjoy the Valentine's weekend together.

“From cozy cafés and romantic dinners to creative workshops, thoughtful gifts, and small-town charm, Uxbridge offers a Valentine’s experience that’s heartfelt, local, and unforgettable,” says the Discover Uxbridge website.
