Emergency exercise looking for volunteer ‘victims’

The Township of Uxbridge is looking for community members to participate in the Township’s 2026 Emergency Exercise on Wednesday, September 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in emergency preparedness, or who want to play an important role in community safety. Participants will be asked to act out assigned roles as part of an emergency exercise and help the Township test its emergency response procedures.

Participants will attend a 9 a.m. information session on the day of the exercise, where they will receive instructions and lanyards, learn about their assigned roles, and have an opportunity to ask questions before the exercise begins at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Interested individuals can register in person at the Uxbridge Public Library or by phone at 905-852-9747.

This exercise will help the Township strengthen its emergency preparedness while gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how the community responds during an emergency.
