Bruins reach back into past for new coach

With the return of six players from last year, a player returning to the fold and the hiring of a new head coach, the Uxbridge Bruins are preparing for the new season.

In a series of announcements, the Bruins said Colin Glecoff, Evan Gilbert, Robbir DiMaria, Tyler Laita and Darin Bain will all be returning for the 2025-26 season, and defenceman Josh Czalij will come back to the Bruins to finish off his Junior C career. The six-foot-five, 220-pound defenseman spent the last two seasons with the Pelham Panthers.

The big news is the return of Dan West to the role of head coach. West coached the Bruins in the 2009-2010 season and came back for the 2012-2013 season. The team's stats were almost identical both seasons. In 2009-10, West led the team to a 31-7-2 record. In his second stint, the record was 30-7-3.

The Bruins also announced Jon Campbell will fill the role of assistant coach and players Trent Nobes and Josh Hall will be joining the team from the Kirkland Lake Goldminers.
