Henry Bolan of Uxbridge was one of the actors. He voiced the character of ‘Ryder,’ who, according to pawpatrol.fandom.com, is “10 years old, leads the PAW Patrol team. He manages the Lookout and has trained each pup for their specific roles.”
Also on hand was Nylan Parthipan of Guelph, who plays ‘Zuma’, a five-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever who works as the water rescue pup on the team. Lucien Duncan Reid of Toronto plays ‘Rubble’, a “tough and friendly five-year-old English Bulldog who serves as the construction pup for the PAW Patrol.” Rain Janjua of Toronto, who plays ‘Chase’, rounded out the group. ‘Chase’ is a German Shepherd puppy who serves as a police dog, traffic copy, super spy and tracker dog.
As moviegoers lined up to get their tickets, the red carpet was rolled out and red rope stanchions were put in place.
Bolan, a student at Quaker Village Public School, has done numerous voice overs in the past, including as the main character in an animated television series called “Super Wings.” He has also appeared in local theatre productions, including Anne of Avonlea, Beauty and the Beast and Shrek the Musical. He also appeared in a professional stage production called Full Light of Day when he was seven years old.
Bolan said his work on the movie began about two years ago, with the voices being recorded first. After that came recalls to re-record some scenes.
Parthipan has done voice overs in 20 movies and this is his second PAW Patrol movie. He said he was encouraged to do voice work by his physiotherapist.
Bolan and his co-stars got to work with Snoop Dogg, Billy Nye the Science Guy, The Backstreet boys, Terry Crews and Fortune Feimster while working on the latest PAW Patrol film. Other voices on the film include Mckenna Grace, Jennifer Hudson and Paris Hilton.
According to a summary on imdb.com, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie sees the famous search and rescue crew “on a mysterious dinosaur island after a storm, where they meet Rex, a stranded pup. When Humdinger's reckless mining triggers a volcano, the team faces their biggest rescue mission yet to save the island.”
PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie is playing at the Roxy Theatres at least until Aug. 27.
